We receive inquiries from people who want to duplicate articles from On the Capitol Doorstep for their own newsletters or for other purposes. In response to these requests, we developed a service to allow limited reproduction of OTCD articles and bill analyses. Participants may reproduce up to two pages of newsletter articles and/or bill analyses, or the equivalent of one page of weekly Update bill analyses per issue without requesting permission prior to publication.* This service is only available to subscribers. Participants will also receive a 10% discount on all OTCD supplemental publications.
For ease of reprinting, the text of our articles is available through a password protected portion of our web site as soon as possible after the Newsletter is published (sometimes before the Newsletter is received by subscribers). Reprint service subscribers will be sent the password by mail or email. We will also happily email articles to reprint service participants to make it easier to reprint. Simply email your request to otcd**, include your subscriber ID#, the title of the article, and the issue number of the newsletter or update in which it appeared.
The cost of the Reprint Service is $250/year in addition to subscriptions to the Newsletter and/or the Legislative Update. The first year's service will be prorated and an individual invoice will be sent; in the future, charges will appear on your annual subscription renewal invoice. Contact our office if other billing arrangements are necessary. Please fill out the order form and return it to the address provided to start using this service.
One-time reprinting of articles may be done with prior authorization and a charge of $50/article (up to 10 bill analyses).
*As with any reproduction of copyrighted materials, OTCD must be cited as the original source whenever original material is reprinted. We also request that our phone number be provided within the issue featuring the cited material.
